The Call for Artefacts is an innovative conference format that promotes diverse forms of interior architectural knowledge production through 2D and 3D physical artefacts, from creative/practice-led design to creativity and explorative practice. The knowledge and artefact may be produced through artistic or professional practice, education, co-creation or user-involvement processes. The presentation of Artefacts will involve the display of the selected physical objects at the conference as an artwork of creative, original, and technical competence and will relate to a conference theme or themes.
Artefacts will be selected based on a double-blind peer review of a 300 word Abstract accompanied by up to 6 images.
Artefact Abstracts should indicate the selected conference theme or themes and prepare a 300 word description of the artefact and its intent. In addition, authors are to include its dimensions (mm), a principle image, up to five drawings, photos, or other images, and up to 5 key words. In addition, authors should include a 50-word author biography.
The description of the artefact should address how it will contribute to the conference topics and the intended presentation format. Submissions may be new creations or recent artworks, from a wide range of artistic expressions within the visual and creative arts.
Artefacts will be selected based on a single-stage double-blind peer review process and accepted authors will upload finalised images before the conference. Authors of accepted Artefacts are invited to submit a final description for publication in the conference proceedings. Authors must provide dimensions for the artefact (mm) to allow for exhibition curation. Artefacts will be submitted either the day before the conference or during the conference registration period; as such, their installation should be uncomplicated.
